back in the 1800's, there were several dairies in corte madera, but the finest dairy that ever existed in corte madera was meadowsweet dairy, established in the 1920's by frank keever and his wife, hazeltine sherman.
Read all about Meadowsweet Dairy here in a chapter from A History of Corte Madera. Then read about what happened to the Dairy property in later years, following the dissolution of the Dairy when Hazeltine Sherman and Frank Keever got divorced. Click here for that story, and learn about local residents' desperate efforts in the early 1990s to keep the old Dairy from being torn down for an upscale townhouse development that was stopped just in the nick of time. Soon we hope to include the story of how the historic Meadowsweet Dairy property was rescued and lovingly restored by Henry and Glenda Corning in more recent years.
