Remembrance Dinner in 1991 for Oldtimers Invited to Celebrate Corte Madera's "75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee"
A broad outreach effort to locate as many of the people who lived in Corte Madera prior to WW II resulted in finding several hundred of these current and past residents, including many who had moved away in the intervening years. Each one received an invitation to attend a special evening event that included a social hour and a sit-down dinner at the Corte Madera Recreation Center that was sponsored by the Town and the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee committee.
It was a grand evening, where guests were surprised and delighted to see old friends from their school days in the 1920s and 1930s. Click here to read some shared memories received from attendees soon after the event, and here to read about their enjoyment of the evening's festivities. Additional photos and video clips from that memorable evening will be added to this page soon.
